Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME domain extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are popular by. At first, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domain names remained operational.

You will have the chance to update the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular conditions on who can purchase a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
